In the beating heart of the City of London’s financial district, a major firm required a comprehensive art installation for their newly refurbished headquarters in Moorgate. The project spanned several floors of high-traffic office space and a grand, double-height foyer.
With over 100 framed artworks of varying sizes and mediums, the primary challenge was maintaining time efficiency and precision across a large-scale commercial environment while working around a tight corporate move-in schedule with multiple contractors and works being carried out.
The Strategy: Multi-Floor Coordination
Installing a collection of this magnitude requires more than just a drill and a level; it requires a logistical plan. Our approach was divided into three distinct phases:
1. The Foyer: Creating the First Impression The foyer serves as the building’s visual handshake. Here, we installed a series of large-scale hero pieces designed to define the firm’s brand identity. Given the high-traffic nature of a Moorgate lobby, we utilised heavy-duty security fixings. These ensure the works are not only perfectly level but are locked to the wall, protecting the investment from accidental knocks or unauthorised movement.
2. The Workspace: Consistency Across Floors Moving through the multiple office floors, the goal was to create a cohesive "gallery" feel. We worked closely with the design team to ensure that artworks in open-plan areas, boardrooms, and private suites were hung at a consistent "eye-level" height, creating a sense of order and calm across the busy workspace.
3. The Precision of 100+ Fixings When installing 100+ pieces, even a 2mm discrepancy becomes noticeable. Our technicians used laser-alignment tools and professional-grade hardware to ensure that every frame - whether a single statement piece or a perfectly spaced triptych - met our rigorous standards.
The Result: A Workspace Transformed
The installation was completed on schedule, transforming a sterile corporate environment into a vibrant, culturally rich workspace.
