Navigating the Technical Challenges
1. Symmetrical Layouts on Period Picture Rails
The Hampstead property featured traditional plasterwork and existing picture rails. Rather than drilling directly into the historic walls, we utilised a traditional rail-hanging system. Using premium, high-capacity brass hooks and brass chain, we suspended the delicate Hockney drawings and prints. This allowed us to make micro-adjustments to the height and horizontal alignment, ensuring a perfectly level, symmetrical finish without compromising the property's architectural heritage.
2. Securing Large, Heavy Artworks & Mirrors
Beyond the paper works, the project demanded specialised mirror hanging for several incredibly large, heavy statement mirrors. For these pieces, relying on standard hanging fixtures was not an option. Our technicians surveyed the wall structures, located the primary studs, and installed heavy-duty wall anchors to ensure the weight of the massive mirror frames was completely supported, balanced, and perfectly flush to the wall.
